Built around AP's in-house Calibre 3120 with a 60-hour power reserve, it introduced rubber-clad screw-locked crowns, a solid caseback, and an extra crown at 10 o'clock for the internal dive bezel, all features that carried through to its successors. ISO 6425 certified for diving, it set the template that the 15710ST and 15720ST later built on.
