Royal Oak Offshore Strap Guide

Choosing the right MIDAS strap for your Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore is straightforward once you know your watch case size. This guide covers sizing, lug width, strap dimensions, and Quick Change compatibility, then links through to the full reference list for your specific size.

42mm or 44mm, how to tell which size you need

The size refers to your watch case diameter, not the strap width. The easiest way to confirm your size is to check the reference number of your watch and match it against the reference lists on the size-specific guides below. If you are unsure, the case diameter is also listed in your original paperwork or on the AP website under your specific reference.

As a general guide, the 42mm Royal Oak Offshore is the more common size and includes the Offshore Diver models. The 44mm is the larger, more overtly sporty case and does not include a Diver variant.

Quick Change system compatibility

Some newer Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore models are fitted with the AP Quick Change system, which uses a proprietary lug attachment rather than a standard spring bar. MIDAS straps are designed for use with a standard spring bar and tang buckle system and are not directly compatible with the Quick Change system.

If your Royal Oak Offshore has the Quick Change system, it can be retrofitted with standard end links, after which a MIDAS aftermarket AP rubber strap will fit correctly. If you are unsure whether your model has the Quick Change system, please check your reference number on the size-specific guides below or contact us before purchasing.

FAQ

What is the difference between the 42mm and 44mm Royal Oak Offshore strap?

The 42mm strap has a 28mm lug width and includes a free 22mm buckle. The 44mm strap has a 30mm lug width and uses your existing 24mm buckle. The two straps are not interchangeable.

Can I use a MIDAS strap as a Royal Oak Offshore OEM strap replacement?

Yes. MIDAS straps are designed as a direct aftermarket replacement for the original Audemars Piguet OEM Royal Oak Offshore strap. They fit using the same standard spring bar system as the original strap.

Is my Royal Oak Offshore compatible with a MIDAS rubber strap?

Most standard Royal Oak Offshore and Offshore Diver models using a traditional spring bar attachment system are compatible. Models with the AP Quick Change system require standard end links to be fitted first. Check your reference on the 42mm or 44mm guide, or contact us if you are unsure.

How do I swap my Royal Oak Offshore strap?
